Historic Stadium to Host First Concert in Nearly Two Decades

Foo Fighters to Perform on Friday, August 16th

For the first time in 19 years, Providence Park, home to the Portland Timbers and Thorns, will host an outdoor concert weekend.

Crews are currently transforming the venue from a soccer field to a concert venue.

The plan will expand Providence Park into a first-rate concert venue fitting for a major market.

Providence Park to Become Premier Concert Destination

The Rose City will have a new concert venue next summer as Providence Park plans to resume hosting shows for the first time in nearly two decades.

The largest concert venue in town will no longer be Moda Center now that the Portland Timbers plan to reintroduce musical acts to the venue.

Portland Timbers announced a multi-year plan on Monday to host concerts at Providence Park.

Foo Fighters to Launch Concert Series

Music lovers will have another place to see concerts in the Rose City next summer.

For the first time in nearly 20 years, Providence Park will host an outdoor concert weekend featuring the Foo Fighters.

The Foo Fighters are set to play at Providence Park on August 16th as part of a tour that will stop at other sports stadiums.

Providence Park's Evolution

Providence Park, originally a modest amateur athletic field, has transformed into Portland's premiere outdoor sports arena for nearly a century.

The stadium has hosted a wide range of events, including the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup, the 2003 MLS Cup, and concerts.

With the recent booking of the Foo Fighters, Providence Park is poised to become a major concert destination.
